Five-stack formats

Ranked 5s vs Flex Queue

Both queues are played as a five-stack, but they serve different goals. Ranked 5s is the dedicated ranked ladder Riot is bringing back; Flex remains the cross-rank party queue your stack already knows.

LoL Tracker tracks Flex today and will add Ranked 5s when Riot exposes the queue. This page helps you choose where to grind — and how to review each format cleanly.

Ranked 5s vs Flex

Ranked 5s

Dedicated five-stack ladder

Built for groups that want a true ranked identity as a roster — closer to the old ranked teams spirit Riot described in their 2026 dev update.

Flex Queue

The flexible ranked option

Still ranked, but designed for parties of mixed sizes. Most friend stacks already have years of Flex habits and match history here.

One team page, two queues

Same squad page, role-fair MVP scores and champion pools — with queue-specific filters once Ranked 5s data is live.

Which queue should your stack play?

Tryhard competitive rosters will likely split time: Flex for volume and experimentation, Ranked 5s for ladder identity. Casual friend groups may stay Flex-first — both are valid.

  • Choose Ranked 5s when your roster wants a clear ladder goal as a five-stack.
  • Stay Flex-first when you mix subs, play fewer games, or already have a ranked rhythm there.
  • Use LoL Tracker on either queue so reviews stay data-driven instead of vibe-based.

FAQ

Can LoL Tracker track both queues on one team page?

That's the plan. Flex is live now. Ranked 5s will plug into the same team page once Riot ships API support — with filters so you don't mix games blindly.

Does Flex TeamScore include Ranked 5s games?

Today TeamScore is computed from ranked Flex 5 games only. Ranked 5s scoring will follow the same philosophy once the queue exists in our data pipeline.

Which queue should we track first?

Whichever you play most. Most stacks should start with Flex tracking now and add Ranked 5s when the mode and API go live.
